What Shoes You Need To Wear With Mom Jeans

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but skinny jeans are out - looking at you millennials. Mom jeans are the craze for 2021. And no, they’re not ‘edgy’ or ‘fashion-forward’ mom jeans. These are legit mom jeans we would’ve seen on school campuses from the 90s.

The cool thing about mom jeans (besides everything?) is that there are almost no wrong shoes to wear with them. They’re very versatile. I will tell you though that many boot styles are out, especially over-the-knee or higher boots in general.

With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at what shoes you need to wear with infamous mom jeans.

Heels

Heels… and mom jeans? I know you think this sounds like a faux pas, but girl, it’s chic and trendy. There is something about the two completely different looks coming together for a firecracker finish.

My absolute fave heel to wear with a mom jean is a slingback. I prefer the look of a low heel with mom jeans, but don’t hesitate to elongate and create a picturesque physique with a higher slingback heel, too.

Flats

Ok, so you’re not a heel-loving chick. I get that. Heels aren’t always the best option, especially if you’re headed somewhere with a lot of walking. Whatever the reasoning maybe, you’re not stuck to heels with mom jeans. You can go in the opposite direction with some trendy flats.

Which flats work best? Well, if you’re looking to skyrocket your style to the top of the charts, then I recommend Birkenstocks. Needless to say, I’m a huge fan of these comfortable flats, and I think I have a pair in every color (you should too).

However, any flats will work. You could also opt for those ballet flats that you’ve been clinging onto for the past few years. Don’t worry - they’re still trendy.

Trainers

Mom jeans with dad shoes? Yes. This might be the best look yet. It’s cool and casual, yet will have everyone feening to copy your style. In my opinion, just go for it. If you want to rock your trainers for a laidback look, then do it.
